This category rewards a business (retail or non)/community organisation/school or individual or initiatives that demonstrate the extra steps taken to increase waste battery and electrical take-back for recycling and increase awareness of the need to recycle this waste stream.
Business Recycling Champion
This category rewards initiatives that exhibit and demonstrate leadership in managing and recycling their company’s waste within the business and professional services sector. Examples of best practice to drive and sustain recycling with a zero-waste concept should also be included as part of entry.
Community Recycling Initiative
This category recognises community groups or initiatives (may be in partnership with Local Authority) who implement community recycling projects. Entrants must demonstrate how they have raised awareness in their communities via ventures such as re-use, recycling, waste minimisation, composting, educational talks and other recycling projects.
Environmental Education and Awareness Initiative
This category recognises initiatives that promote ‘outside the box’ thinking, that increase recycling and resource waste management. The focus is on the uniqueness of the initiative, its scope, targets and its effects.
Innovation in Waste Resource Products or Service
This category recognises a business/organisation/community group/initiative that has successfully placed a new product or service on the market that makes an outstanding contribution to environmental protection and sustainability.
Online Green Packaging Award
This category rewards a producer or retailer of e-commerce packaging that demonstrates innovation in sustainable and eco-friendly packaging with an emphasis on reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Plastic Pledge Award
This Award is open to Repak Plastic Pledge signatories who provide detailed data of projects implemented that align with the 5 main objectives of the Plastic Pledge. Entrants will be in with the opportunity to win a Gold, Silver or Bronze award. In addition, entrants must demonstrate educational efforts to support staff and consumers.
Tyre Champion
This category will reward Repak ELT Members who are fully compliant with all legal and membership obligations and demonstrate a high level of partnership with ELT, together with excellence in managing all waste that arises in the course of doing business.
Waste Recovery Operator of the Year - Commercial and Household
This category is open to Recovery Operators who hold a current Waste Collection Permit and Facility Permit and show evidence of best in class service to commercial and household customers through collection systems, communication and education or awareness programmes.
Waste Prevention Business Award
This category will reward a business/Local Authority/organisation who can demonstrate the steps that have been taken in trying to prevent waste, and use resources efficiently and showcase how campaigns, education or awareness schemes effectively communicated efforts.
Waste Recycling and Recovery Facility of the Year
This category will reward a Business/Local Authority/Organisation for their excellent recycling and recovery capability. This category is open to all Local Authorities or Environmental Protection Agency permitted or licensed facilities that receive waste material for recycling or recovery.
